There has been a lot of speculation about whether Donald Trump will seek a second term as President in 2024. His followers and fans have been asking the same question: “Will he or won’t?.”

Trump has been nothing but a teaser. He’s actually kept his intentions very close to his vest. He did however say something to the Washington Post about 2024.

Interviewer Josh Dawsey interviewed the former president, who spent too much time pressing Trump on Jan. 6, 2021. (This brings us to Anne Applebaum’s point: If Anne believes that Hunter Biden’s laptop should not be covered because it isn’t “interesting”, can we please stop talking about Jan. 6, 2021, for the same reason?)

Dawsey talked to Trump at the end about the state and prospects for the GOP in 2024. Trump spoke of his influence in the party but didn’t make any statements about whether he would run for the presidency.

Dawsey stated that Trump said that it was true that he had told advisers his health would play into whether he would run again for office in 2024, but that he is currently in good health.”

Trump said that he always had to discuss health. Trump said, “You appear to be in good health, but tomorrow you receive a letter from your doctor saying come visit me again.” It’s not good when they say the word again.

He said, “I don’t want to make any comments on running but I believe a lot of people will be very happy with my decision.” “Because it is a little boring right now.”

Many people are concerned about Trump’s health and age as they approach 2024. Trump will be 78 years old in 2024, which is more than Joe Biden was on Election Day 2020. We can clearly see the problems that having a president nearing 80 has caused.

This is not to say that Trump is better than Biden. However, I believe Trump would be able to run circles around Biden cognitively, and would likely be in better health at Biden’s age. However, things are more complicated when you’re older than they used to be.

A deep bench is one of the greatest things for Republicans in 2024. Dawsey stated that “Other Republicans such as Pence and Florida Gov. He said that Ron DeSantis and former secretary to state Mike Pompeo would not be interested in challenging him in the 2024 Republican presidential primary campaign. They have not ruled out challenging him.”

Trump knew why he believed other candidates for 2024 would follow his lead.

He stated, “If I ran I can’t imagine them wanting to run.” “Some people would not have run if they were loyal. Most of these people and nearly every name that you mentioned are there because of me. Some cases were because I supported them and endorsed their efforts.”

Trump stated, “I have a great relationship with Ron. I also have a great relationship with all of the names you mentioned.” “Would I run against them?” They wouldn’t run against me, I think. I doubt it.”

If you are hoping for Trump to make a clear announcement about his plans for 2024 then you will have to wait.
