In a touching speech Wednesday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, used every rhetorical trick he could to convince Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters to “close the skies over Ukraine.”
If he hopes to receive lasting assistance from these sluggish U.S. leaders, he may as well have spoken into the wind.
Pelosi, the House leadership, and senators stood up and smiled like trained seals while President Zelenskyy was on Wednesday morning via video. Zelenskyy invoked Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech and invoked the memories of Pearl Harbor, 9/11 to obtain a no-fly zone over his land. The U.S. has sent many anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine and will send nearly $2 billion by the end of this week.
The long-standing animosity between Mother Russia and the independent, strong-willed Ukrainians is something I am unable to fully understand. However, we can all agree that the bombing of children, babies, mothers, and hospitals must stop.
I have acquaintances in Ukraine — fellow pilgrims. These people are avoiding bombs. If Putin’s forces approach, civilians plan to blow up bridges. They are armed with Kalashnikovs, and they know how to use them. The difficult decision of which citizen-soldier to send to the war front must be made by a citizen-soldier. Each moment can be a difficult task for those who are not fighting. How do you get bread and potatoes to those who are hungry? To get on a bus, one must grease his palm. There are many logistics. Each day. Hours. Are my people safe Where can we all pray together? Do we dare? To get a better understanding of Pastor Anatoly Khaluzny’s situation and to gain insight into his faith and fight, listen to my interview.
It is irrelevant to ask whether the U.S. should “close the skies” at this moment.
None of these congressional leaders and President Joe Biden can be trusted, not even their constituents.
These leaders would not trust him. They watched as Joe Biden escaped Afghanistan, leaving behind thousands of Americans with special visas.
This is a national disgrace. Why would you trust a man who said he’d do nothing even if Vladimir Putin was involved in a “minor intrusion” weeks ago?
Why would Zelenskyy put his faith in a president and congressional leaders who beg oil from the despots of the world — Russia, Venezuelan dictators, and “death to America” mullahs to get oil for their country? He is more afraid of AOC than the ayatollah.
This is cowardly, stupid nonsense.
Zelenskyy would not trust a president who is more concerned about his personal wealth from Ukraine and Chinese billionaires that he is doing the right thing for the people he was elected. What would Joe Biden like in return for this amount of money from other people? Another public official was fired because he is investigating Biden’s son’s company.
He would not trust a political party that did not provide any assistance to the four CIA paramilitary personnel who were defending against a terrorist attack on the anniversary. As a cover story, who then lied to and imprisoned an innocent man?
He would not trust a leader who routinely compares their political opposition to Hitler. Who tells his friends to “get in their faces” so they can get a mob?
Who can trust a leader who holds political opponents in prison without charging them and labeling them terrorists? This man and his cowardly group of cowards are hard to trust.
He can’t really trust these leaders to keep the course when they show so little respect for their country that they allow anyone to enter their borders.
How can you trust people who are unable to believe in and trust the institutions they have allowed to fall from corruption?
This spiritually and morally bankrupt group has monetarily brought their country to near bankruptcy. Why should they believe that?
Zelenskyy should not believe Joe Biden’s promises but he should take his money for his country.
